References to Miqra According to the Masorah (MAM) in these changes are to the Sefaria MAM available when the change was entered. This version can be viewed via the Links list on any book page. The Sefaria MAM is not as up-to-date as the Hebrew Wikisource Miqra According to the Masorah, however.
References to BHL in these changes are to Aron Dotan's Biblia Hebraica Leningradensia, 2001. The body text (BHL) represents Dotan's eclectic understanding of the Masorah; BHL Appendix A contains his detailed notes about the LC text itself. BHL Appendix A influences, but does not determine, the UXLC transcription. Extracts from the BHL Foreword are available in the Supplements area.
References to Breuer-DM in these changes are to the sections titled "The Text and its Sources" (הנוסח ומקורותיו) in various volumes of the Da'at Miqra (דעת מקרא) series published by Mosad HaRav Kook.

| The qamats on the kaf is generally accepted as anomalous; hence the transcription note 'n'. The reference text is based on a black/white facsimile of the LC. In the black/white facsimile Beck & Freedman, the dot in the qamats is dark and well-shaped. The color facsimile provided by the author (shown here) shows the dot is brown and possibly an artifact. If the dot does not represent scribal intent, the qamats becomes a patah, and the word is no longer anomalous. Note: The dot is to the left of the center of the patah bar. The note will be changed to t, "Transcription uncertain". |

The color facsimile, above, the dot is brown with an attached, smaller, darker dash. The dagesh is probably an artifact. Note: The color page has a scattering of similar brown dots, such as ones above the nun in the word. Note: Masora Circle over the word refers to the number '4' in the left margin. |

| Text(Taamey D Web, 40pt) | נֹפֵ֔ל | נֹפֵ֗ל |
| Unicode | nun holam pe tsere zaqef-qatan lamed | nun holam pe tsere revia lamed |
| Two dots over the pe might be taken as revias. One is almost touching the top of the pe, the other is above thge gap between the pe and the lamed. The revia on top of the pe is small and faint. Compare with the revias in 7:7.10 immediately above it or in the same verse at 7:8.24. It's very difficult to decide the correct accent. The upper dot of the zaqaf qatan might be considered hidden by the munah in 7:7.6 immediately above it. The JPS Tanakh has a zaqef qatan. The sefaria.org "Miqra_according_to_the_Masora" shows a revia instead of a zaqef qatan. |

| This change undos the change in 2020.10.19 - Changes.xml, 2020.07.16-1, which was based on a low resolution, black and white image of the text. The high resolution, color image of the page shows that the dagesh is light, redish, and likely to be an artifact. The lack of a dagesh on the consonant with a rafe agrees with usual Masoretic practice. |
